Staff Profiles

Graham Levene - Managing Director

Graham Levene - Managing Director

One of the original founders of SMB, Graham is responsible for ensuring the business continues to grow, something it has done consistently now for over 10 years.

"It's not just a question of growth for the sake of it; we want to make SMB a byword for customer service, good practice, quality and efficiency. If we have all of these elements in place, expansion has to be the natural progression.

"Over the years, we have amassed an excellent workforce and I believe that we have proven these sentiments beyond doubt as we now have an impressive 38 employees, 15 of whom are productive."

"As a result of their judgement and wealth of experience, they have collectively taken SMB where it belongs - to the top of its game."

"The job requires that I work long hours - and that is my choice - but at weekends, I enjoy quad-biking with my sons; perhaps a round of golf, and generally enjoying family life."

Lesley Blomeley - Company Secretary

Lesley has been with SMB in total for more than seven years (with some maternity leave in between) and has this to say about her role within the business;

"I love my job here as the whole of the workforce are great to work with, and no two days are ever the same. It could never be called mundane or boring."

"Having had 2 children within the past 2 years means my life is totally hectic! I have been fortunate in being able to adjust my working hours to just 20 hours a week, which enables me to keep on top of all my commitments, both at home and at SMB."

"Outside working hours, I do the things that most parents do with their family and make the most of what quality time we have together."

Adrian Marrow - Customer Service Manager

With four years under his belt at SMB, Adrian is often one of the first faces customers see when they enter the company premises.

He said: "Everyone works well together and that means we all get on. I am supported by colleagues Gemma and Kerry, who have worked along side me for just over 2 years."

"It can be quite frantic at times as we have so many vehicles passing through our hands; but we have strict guidelines and operating procedures to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible"

"To relax and chill out, I get the quad bike out and take to open land for a bit of a blast in the fresh air. Either that, or spending quality time with my better half."

Alison Peberdy - Business Development Manager

A recent addition to the SMB fold, Alison has joined us to undertake a role that will ultimately increase our exposure within the industry and move SMB forward even further.

"This environment is unlike any I have previously experienced, having recently completed a 30 year stint in the public sector. I have to admit it is many things, not least challenging! SMB is like a small family and it is lovely to see how everyone pulls together within the workplace."

"This job holds more than just a little fascination for me since my own hobbies in the main, are about cars and motorbikes; I am at my most happiest when enjoying a good ride out on my R1200GS, preferably within a warm, European destination!"

Adam Riley - Estimator

A relative newcomer to SMB, Adam has settled in nicely to become part of the SMB team. With a keen eye for detail, Adam's role within SMB makes him a very busy individual and one of the key personnel in ensuring customer satisfaction.

A keen traveller, Adam enjoys nothing more than to spend his leisure time exploring exotic countries ~ as far away as possible!

"One of my ambitions is to go on safari to Africa but unfortunately, my wife has other ideas! A more leisurely holiday is more her cup of tea but I live in hope that one day I will be able to convince her to the contrary!"

Darren Tighe - Workshop Controller

Another newcomer to SMB, Darren brings with him 15 years experience within the industry and is responsible for maintaining the everyday running of the workshop. His job is instrumental in ensuring the repair process is progressed as efficiently and smoothly as possible whilst ensuring productivity is kept to a maximum without any sacrifice to quality.

He says, "No two days are ever alike and the shop floor is full of very colourful characters with a variety of different personalities. The challenge of keeping one step ahead of them certainly keeps me on my toes!"

A single man, Darren finds a lot of his spare time is taken up on his home, which for the past 2 years has been a major DIY project for him. And if he allows himself any down time at all, relaxing in front of the TV watching a good game of football will keep him happy!
